THE ACCUSED MANOJ @ KAIRA WAS EARLIER ARRESTED UNDER STRINGENT MCOC ACT AND WAS RUNNING IN JUDICIAL CUSTODY, HE WAS CLOSE CONFIDANT OF THE GANG AND PROVIDED INFORMATION ABOUT BUSINESSMEN FOR EXTORTION CALLS

As part of an intensified crackdown on gangsters and organized crime in the capital the Crime Branch has been given specific mandate to identify, arrest and dismantle criminal networks operating across Delhi and adjoining states.

In continuation to this, the team of Anti-Gang Squad (AGS) Crime Branch of Delhi Police led by DCP Sh. Harsh INDORA under supervision of Addl. CP Sh. Mangesh Kashyap had inflicted decisive blow to the gang by arresting key member of the syndicate headed by gangster Kapil Sangwan @ Nandu. While studying the modus operandi of the syndicate, identification of shooters, facilitator and financier, it was learnt that one Manoj Yadav @ Kaira was key members of the syndicate who used to supply valuable information of the potential targets i.e, businessmen as well as was a key facilitator to provide arms to the shooters. On 07.10.2025, he was arrested in case bearing FIR No 165/24 PS Crime Branch, Delhi.

BACKGROUND OF THE CRIME SYNDICATE

The previous criminal record of the crime syndicate shows a progression from revenge murders and armed robberies (2015–2016) to organized extortion, targeted shootings, and contract killings (2021–2024), operating through a well-structured gang with nationwide reach. The syndicate has generated assets acquired illegally running into the huge value.

Funds are channeled through: • Extortion rackets against businessmen, property dealers, and traders. • Land dispute settlements through coercion. • Money spent on maintaining shooters, logistics, and safe hideouts.

PROFILE OF THE ASSOCIATE MANOJ YADAV @KAIRA

The accused was initially a bootlegger operating in the area of Najafgarh. Subsequently to deter his competitors / rivals and to gain supremacy in the area he joined the gang. He is bad character of PS Jafarpur having 7 previous cases against him including murder and bootlegging.

He was also found involved in the following cases with the crime syndicate

FIR No 174/2025, U/s 308(4) BNS PS Sector 10, Gurugram, Haryana.
In this case he had passed on information to the syndicate head Kapil Sangwan @ Nandu & informed him to threaten the owner of a plot to vacate the possession of the plot as he had created dispute on the plot.  FIR No. 167/2025 U/s 103(1)/3(5) BNS & 25/27 Arms Act, PS Paschim Vihar East, Outer District. 

In this case the deceased was brutally murdered being sympathizer of the rival gang . In this case, accused Manoj Yadav @Kaira delivered weapons to the shooters.

FIR NO. 139/25 Dt 05.05.2025 U/s 308(4) BNS PS Najafgarh. The accused Manoj @Kaira had provided information about a businessman for extortion. The investigation against the accused Manoj Yadav @ Kaira was carried out in a professional manner and after completion of the same, a charge sheet has been filed against him in the court.

Further investigation of the case is still ongoing for apprehending other members of the syndicate.
