Bathed in a gentle winter sun filtering through the lingering morning mist, the Pink City awoke to a spectacle of discipline, pride and patriotism as Jaipur hosted the Second Rehearsal of the 78th Army Day Parade 2026 at Mahal Road, Jagatpura.

The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General H S Vandra, Chief of Staff, Sapta Shakti Command, who led the event, lending it added prestige and inspiration. His presence underscored the importance of the parade as a celebration of the Army’s legacy, its operational readiness and its future-oriented transformation.

Adding an international dimension, the participation of a Nepal Army contingent once again symbolised the enduring bonds of friendship, shared history and close military cooperation between India and Nepal. The integration of vibrant Rajasthani tableaus and cultural performances, celebrating the state’s rich socio-cultural heritage and martial traditions, remained a major attraction and resonated strongly with the audience.

A key highlight of the day was the impressive display of indigenously developed, state-of-the-art military hardware, reflecting the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Advanced weapon systems, modern platforms and cutting-edge war-fighting equipment-many of which proved their operational effectiveness during Operation SINDOOR-were showcased alongside legacy systems that continue to safeguard the nation. Tanks, artillery guns, missile systems, drones, helicopters, fighter aircraft and the newly raised Bhairav Battalions drew sustained applause from spectators.
