DELHI ANTF BUSTED THIRD FAKE MEDICINE FACTORY MANUFACTURING SPURIOUS DRUGS , ASSIVE HAUL OF SPURIOUS DRUGS, OPIOIDS & MACHINERY SEIZED

Further intensifying the inter-state crackdown on organized narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch got another illegal factory busted while manufacturing spurious medicines/syrups. Under the overall supervision of the DCP/ANTF, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, a team of Insp Nitesh Kumar supervised by ACP Sh. Satendra Mohan, this breakthrough comes just days after the exposure of two illegal pharmaceutical units in Bihar, revealing manufacturing spurious medicines and psychotropic substances at various places. The operation was conducted during investigation of FIR No. 273/25 u/s 22 NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch.

After technical and human intelligence was used from previous arrests in this case, and interrogation of another accused Arun in police custody, it emerged that one Brijesh, is indulged in making spurious medicines/syrups and packaging them to sell in the market to earn huge profit. . The ANTF team of Insp Nitesh Kumar, led by SI Vikasdeep, consisting of ASI Sanwar Mal, HC Amit, HC Gulshan, at once reached Patna and Brijesh was traced on the instance of accused Arun. Arun, who is in police custody, after he was found coordinating illegal manufacturing/ distributing large scale opioids and running an illegal manufacturing unit of medicines/syrups.

On Arun’s instance, this action was taken, wherein, Brijesh was found to be running an illegal manufacturing/repackaging unit near Patna, Bihar. The drug department team from Patna was called and thorough inspection was carried out by the drug department team. The unit was found being run without a valid license to manufacture, in absence of mandatory manufacturing and analytical chemists. Legal action has been initiated by the drug team as per the procedure outlined.

A huge quantity of equipment, spurious tablets/syrups, packing material were found as follows:
Recovery: 590 strips of Clavam -25,  ⁠More than 30000 tabs of m-Moxi, ⁠More than 53000 embicet tabs, ⁠10000 Vicks action. Tabs, ⁠8000 Trypsin tab, ⁠8000 Omez cap (expired), ⁠Unlabelled codeine syrup, Overall more than 20 kinds of tabs/syrups, ⁠Industrial stirrer,  ⁠Drums.  ⁠Empty pet bottles and caps for packing syrups,  ⁠Packing/labelling material

Recovery of large cache of expired medicines suggest that he may have been involved in repackaging expired medicines to resell. The tablets/syrups were again diverted to be sold through bogus medical fronts at inflated prices.

IMPACT: The operation has so far resulted in 9 arrests, recovery of more than 13 kg Tramadol powder, more than 500 gm Alprazolam, etc. The operations continued with travelling thousands of kilometres in various states in different terrains, with multiple arrests and large recovery/busts of factory/modules.

This action marks another step in dismantling the narcotics/psychotropic substances trafficking being run by a large group of criminals in the country. The ANTF/Crime Branch continues to pursue further leads to apprehend the other criminals indulging in illegal psychotropics/opioids supply.

This operation once again underlines the relentless commitment of the ANTF/Crime Branch in cracking down on drug trafficking and moving towards the dream of a drug-free Delhi, said Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, IPS, DCP ANTF.
