The Ferozepur Railway Division has reported notable progress across infrastructure, safety, passenger services and revenue generation during the last financial year, with Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar highlighting a focused push towards modernization and operational efficiency.

The DRM said that 76.77 km of track renewal was completed during the year, improving safety and punctuality. He added that speed limits on key sections such as Amritsar–Khemkaran and Jalandhar–Hoshiarpur were increased up to 110 kmph, enabling faster movement of trains. Safety fencing was also installed along 85.2 km in the Ludhiana–Jalandhar–Pathankot section to curb trespassing and ensure smoother operations.

Safety continued to remain a priority, with the division adopting a zero-tolerance approach. A total of 69 safety seminars and field demonstrations were conducted, while 47 counselling sessions were organised for loco pilots to address SPAD-related concerns. Mock drills in coordination with NDRF were also carried out to enhance preparedness for emergencies.

On the commercial front, the DRM stated that the division earned revenue of Rs 3382.65 crore, surpassing its targets. Passenger bookings reached 4.85 crore, reflecting steady growth, while revenue from ticket checking also exceeded expectations. He further informed that new train services, including those connecting Ferozepur with Hazur Sahib Nanded and Haridwar, along with Vande Bharat trains, have strengthened regional connectivity.

Highlighting operational improvements, he said freight loading registered growth with increased transportation of food grains, paper and agricultural produce. Development of goods sheds and logistics infrastructure further supported this growth. Modernisation of signalling systems and passenger information facilities at stations also contributed to enhanced safety and passenger convenience.
