15-DAY SEWING MACHINE TRAINING PROGRAM SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES

A 15-day sewing machine training program was successfully organized by the Women and Child Welfare Society, Sector 45D, Chandigarh. The program was conducted under the Rural Industry Development Scheme run by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), GoI.

The training took place from March 17 to March 31, 2026, at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Sector 45, It was managed by the State Office of KVIC, MSME Bhawan, Sector 22-C, Chandigarh.

The main objective of the program was to empower underprivileged women and girls by making them self-reliant and providing them with employment opportunities. Around 20 women and young girls from Chandigarh and Punjab participated in the training.

Under the guidance of Founder and President Pooja Bakshi, participants received practical and technical sewing training from an experienced instructor, significantly enhancing their skills.

Additionally, participants were informed about various government schemes to help them benefit from welfare programs and ensure their overall development.

Upon completion of the training, all participants will be provided with commercial sewing machines along with toolkits, enabling them to start their own businesses and become financially independent.
