A Havan Yajna with prayers for world peace was organised in the RSD Girls Middle School here.Ravi Doda, son of veteran freedom fighter Parmanand Doda, participated as the chief host in the Havan Yajna performed by Arya Samaj priest Krishna Kant.
Prominent social worker Naresh Khurana, who had monitored the construction of the new block in 1992 with the inspiration of the then Deputy Commissioner Sarvesh Kaushal, took over as the new head of the institution. Arjun Das Demla has been included as the vice-president, Jagat Verma as junior vice-president, Aseem Chhabra as secretary, Narinder Verma as joint secretary, Prem Kumar Sidana as manager, Sanjay Arora as treasurer. Other members are Bhanwar Lal Khatri, Rajkumar Charaya, Ajay Goyal, Vijay Goyal, Raj Sadosh, educationist Chittarlekha, Principal Sudesh Rani and former Principal Santosh Rani. During the program, flowers were showered on the students and prasad was distributed.
Doda said that the donation of education is the greatest donation. By taking over the reins of this institution, Naresh Khurana has taken another important step in the field of social service.
