Under the Fit India Mission of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the Sriganganagar district police organized a grand fitness awareness program today. A massive cycle rally, rope skipping, yoga and Zumba sessions were organized on the occasion.
A grand cycle rally from the Police Lines was flagged off by Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan. The rally passed through the main roads and ended at Meera Chowk. People on the way enthusiastically welcomed the rally and appreciated this effort of fitness awareness.
SP Dr. Amrita Duhan said, "The aim of Fit India Mission is to inspire every citizen to be physically and mentally healthy. This event not only promotes fitness but also spreads unity and positivity in the society." She appealed to the youth and citizens to take out at least half an hour daily from their busy life for physical activities. The rope skipping and Zumba sessions organised after the rally added a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the crowd, especially the youth.
The local residents appreciated these activities and called it a unique and inspiring step to spread fitness awareness in the city.
