Evergreen Bollywood legend Dev Anand’s memorable visit to the Fazilka border for the Border Security Force’s (BSF) 4th Foundation Day continues to evoke nostalgia among BSF veterans and locals.

Recalling the occasion, the day of Dec.1, 1969  veteran photo journalist Lila Dhar  Sharma shared that Dev Anand attended the event along with senior BSF officer Ashwini Sharma—who later became Inspector General—battalion commandant Hardeep Singh, O.P. Chaddha, and other officials, Suleman ki border in Fazilka sector.

During the celebration, Dev Anand also performed patriotic songs for BSF jawans, leaving a deep and lasting impact.

As the BSF marks its 60th Foundation Day this year, celebrations at the international Sadiqi border in Fazilka will follow the retreat ceremony. Various social organizations from the region will honor BSF officers and jawans with a floral tribute and distribution of sweets.
