UT Police from from1st Jan. 2025 to 28th Dec. 2025 reported registered 149 cases and arrested 235 accused with a recovery Recovery of Narcotics:Heroin- 5.613 Kg, Ice- 101.73 Gram, Cocaine- 1.456 Kg, Poppy Husk -20.673 Kg, Ganja- 45.098 Kg, Charas- 7.556 Kg Opium- 227 Tree, Opium- 15.67 Gram Coca Balls – 48, Crack Balls – 114 Gram Amphetamine- 15.148 Gm, Contrabands-12 Gm Brown powder-1.94 Gram, Injection – 97 Tablets- 444, Cash- Rs. 41,41,835/- Vehicle recovered: Four Wheeler -14, Two Wheeler- 7, Silver & Gold Jewellery.
Police successfully secured preventive detention orders against 4 drug peddlers Bala, Dishant Geol, Ram Kishan @ Muchhad and Gagan @ Gogi under the PITNDPS Act, 1988. These habitual offenders, posing a serious threat to public safety, and lodged in Model Jail Chandigarh. This action reflects Chandigarh Police’s comprehensive approach, combining preventive detention, financial investigations, and property seizures to combat drug trafficking and work towards a drug-free Chandigarh.

Arrest of International and Inter-state drug syndicate : Police has achieved a major success in combatting drug trafficking by busting international and inter-state drug syndicate and arrested three foreign nationals (2 from Nigerian & 1 from South Africa) and two local drug suppliers by registering two separate FIRs against them and recovered 50.88 Grams Heroin, 67 Grams Amphetamine, 70 Grams Cocaine, one BMW Car and one Honda Accord car. FIR No. 16 dated 22.07.2025 U/s 22 NDPS Act, PS-Crime.
Drug supplied by Uber driver: On 15.07.2025, Chandigarh Police apprehended one Uber driver namely Sushil Kumar @ Sulli age 32 years r/o New Indira Colony and recovered 7.32 Grams of heroin. In this regard, FIR No. 57/2025 Under Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Mani Majra. During further investigation, the police recovered Rs. 2,22,500/- drug money from his house and an additional 238 grams of heroinand TVS motorcycle (CH01CZ7842).
Cross-Border Drug Smuggling Racket Busted - The UT Police unearthed an international drug syndicate operating between India and Pakistan and arrested six accused in FIR No. 17 dated 05.08.2025 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Crime, Chandigarh. During the operation, 654 grams of heroin and 112 grams of cocaine, with an approximate market value of Rs. 1.25 crore, were recovered. Investigations revealed that the racket was being operated by Pakistan-based handlers, including Zubair Rana of Lahore, supplying narcotics to Chandigarh and Punjab through clandestine courier routes.
International Drug Cartel Busted : Police busted an international drug cartel with links to Pakistan, leading to the arrest of four accused and the registration of three separate cases under the NDPS Act. A total recovery of 201.23 grams of heroin and 324 grams of charas was affected, along with one car and one motorcycle. The arrested persons include Mandeep Singh @ Arsh, Maninderjit Singh, Ruma Devi, and Jashanpreet Singh @ Jashan. Investigations revealed that the contraband was smuggled into India using drones and subsequently supplied through local networks.
Narco Syndicate with Foreign Links Busted- Police busted an international narco syndicate in the Tricity region and recovered 260.86 grams of heroin worth approximately Rs. 1.5 crore, along with one country-made pistol and one live cartridge. FIR No. 18 dated 30.08.2025 under the NDPS Act and Arms Act was registered at Police Station Crime. The gang involved educated persons and foreign operatives using encrypted platforms for drug trafficking and money laundering.
Two inter-state drug syndicates busted- Police busted two interstate drug syndicates and seized narcotics worth approximately Rs. 8.15 crore, including cocaine, heroin and Ice drug. In FIR No. 23 dated 07.11.2025 under Sections 21, 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at PS Crime, accused Bunty and five associates were arrested with 1.13 kg cocaine, 194.301 grams heroin, Ice drug, gold and silver jewellery, Rs. 20 lakh drug money, two cars and one motorcycle.
In another case, FIR No. 24 dated 19.11.2025 under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, police recovered cocaine, cash, gold jewellery and two cars from another group. Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain, financial links and other members of these inter-state networks.
