ADMINISTRATOR TAKES COGNIZANCE AND DIRECTS DGP TO TAKE NECESSARY ACTION

 Face2News/Chandigarh:

Former councillor and BJP leader Satinder Singh, along with social activists Narendra Pandey, Jai Prakash Gupta, and Rajeev Pandey, met Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria during the weekly public hearing held at the Sector 9 Secretariat regarding the spread of misleading information and propaganda about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Satinder Singh said that in recent days, interviewee Sukhdeep Singh on Punjab Uncut channel had claimed that the RSS had published a book in 1999 containing misleading and objectionable information about the Gurus. He termed this claim as extremely unfortunate and irresponsible.

He added that some anti-social elements have been circulating this interview on social media, while the reality is that the RSS has never published any such book. He further said that a written complaint regarding the matter had already been submitted to the Chandigarh Police Cyber Cell along with a video clip a few days ago, but unfortunately no action has been taken so far. Had action been taken earlier, the unfortunate incident at Panjab University might not have occurred.

Satinder Singh stated that all members of the delegation have been volunteers of the RSS since childhood and are well aware that the organization has always worked for the upliftment of the nation and society.

The delegation urged the Administrator to take strict action against social media account operators who are spreading misinformation among university students and youth, as well as speakers who are attempting to divide society.

Satinder Singh also mentioned that last year some anti-social elements made derogatory remarks about Sita and Rama on social media. A complaint regarding that matter was also submitted at the Cyber Police Station, Sector 17, Chandigarh, but no accused has been arrested till date despite registration of FIR.

Members of the delegation said that certain foreign forces are trying to provoke religious sentiments among people in India to create conflicts among communities. They stressed that the administration and police should act promptly in such matters. The Administrator spoke to the DGP of Chandigarh and directed that immediate action be taken.
