Under the guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP Operations. UT. Chandigarh, under the supervision of Sh. Vikas Sheokand, DSP Operations, team of Chandigarh Police Operation Cell headed by Inspector Ranjit Singh, Inspector Operations achieved a major success by bursting an illegal LPG cylinders refilling station active in tri-city.

As per the directions and to prevention/detection of crime in the city, Chandigarh Police Operations Cell deployed its teams in the area of U.T Chandigarh to keep vigil on the anti social elements, wanted criminals/gangsters etc.

On 14.05.2025, a team was deployed on patrolling duty in the area of Chandigarh, when team reached near Wine Shop. crossing Makhan Majra, Chandigarh, The team got a secret information that some persons are running a illegal LPG Gos refilling station near Mango street, Village-Dariya, Chandigarh. On 14.05.2025, Team of Operation Cell raided on the spot and arrested 8 persons involved in the work of illegally refilling gas from Domestic Gas Cylinder to Commercial Gas Cylinders without any safety measures. Two main accused, who were manage to escape during the raid on 14.05.2025.

With the sincere efforts of the team of Operation Cell on dated 17.05.2025, accused namely Sehsal Singh @ Pinku Rio Village Dariya, age 39 years and on dated 18.05.2025 accused namely Manoj Kumar Village Dariya Age-29 have been arrested. Till now total 10 accused have been arrested and 545 Commercial/Domestic Gas Cylinder, 03 Weighing Machine Electronic and 24 Refilling motors have been recovered so far. Immediate response of team of operation cell averted the chance of major accident in the area and ensured the safety of local public and goods. Further investigation is going on.
