In the intervening night of 14-15/01/2026, Anti Narcotic Cell/North District received secret information that two active gangsters of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang namely Deepak and one later identified as CCL would pass from Burari and they may also be carrying firearms. It was also learnt that both were involved in two sensational firing incidents for extortion (1) at a Gym in the area of PS Paschim Vihar East and (2) at a businessman’s house in the area of West Vinod Nagar, East Delhi. Both the incidents are of the night intervening 12-13 Jan. 2026 in which two extortions cases were registered vide FIR Nos. (1) 14/2026 dated 13.01.2026 PS PaschimVihar East and (2) 27/2026 dated 13.01.2026 PS Madhu Vihar, Delhi.
After these incidents, Special Commissioner of Police (L&O) Zone I, Sh. Ravindra Singh Yadav had directed all the districts to be on high alert, step up surveillance online and in the area and also to develop information regarding possible movements and hideouts of such suspects. Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Range, Sh. Madhur Verma tasked and briefed the districts on these critical aspects. While continuing this drive, the team of Anti-Narcotics Cell, North District developed critical information by deploying secret sources as well as technical surveillance.
Acting upon the information, a team led by SI Jagbir Singh, I/C Anti-Narcotics Cell/North comprising SI Rinku, HC Manjeet, HC Sourav, HC Rahul, HC Vijay, HC Naresh and Ct Deepanshu was constituted under the supervision of Ms.Vidushi Kaushik, ACP/Operations Cell.
A trap was laid at Pushta Nala Road, Burari near Hiranki. At around 1:25 AM, two boys riding on a scooty were seen coming. They were indicated to stop the scooty by the police team. On seeing the police party, the pillion rider opened fired targeting the police team. He fired two rounds out of which one bullet directly hit the bulletproof jacket of a team member Ct. Deepanshu. In retaliation, the police team also fired upon the assailants and one bullet fired by Ct. Deepanshu hit the right foot of the pillion rider due of which he fell down.
The scooty rider who was also carrying a pistol in his hand, started running from there but he was overpowered by the police team. The pillion rider was also overpowered by the police team. Two pistols along with two live cartridges were recovered from them. The injured pillion rider was identified as Deepak aged 19 years s/o Ravi r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, was immediately taken to Burari Govt. Hospital, Delhi. The rider was identified as CCL. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 31/2026 u/s 221/132/109(1)/3(5) BNS & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Burari, Delhi and the investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: During interrogation, it was revealed that both the assailants are working for Lawrence Bishnoi Gang. About 2-3 months before, they had come in the contact of this gang through social media. The gang aides purportedly Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit who are operating from outside India, were in direct contact with both the assailants, for the last one month through Signal app. Few days ago, the gang aides had provided the illegal arms & ammunition to both the boys through their accomplices active in Delhi.
On the directions of their handlers, they had committed two firing incidents by a using a bike on the night intervening 12-13 Jan. 2026, first at a gym in the area of PS Paschim Vihar East and second at a businessman’s house in the area of West Vinod Nagar, Madhu Vihar and after the incidents, they fled away. The gang wanted to extort the businessmen for which they had hired both these assailants and they had promised to give them Rs. 2 lacs along with all logistics for these firing incidents. The assailants had received Rs. 50000 from the gang.
At the instance of accused persons, the shoes and pants worn at the time of firing incidents were also recovered. Further investigation is under progress and efforts are being made to nab other associates of the gang.
DETAILS OF CASES OF EAST AND OUTER:- In Outer district, they had fired upon RK Fitness Gym, in Paschim Vihar, owned by Rohit Khatri and his wife who have millions of followers on social media.
In East district, they had fired upon house of a businessman in Vinod Nagar who had received a Rs. 5 Cr. Extortion demand from Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Deepak aged 19 years s/o Ravi r/o Sangam Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP and CCL are school dropouts. For the last few years, Deepak was residing in Rohini where he came in contact with CCL. Both became friends. Few months ago, the CCL had quarrel with his neighbor for which he also informed his friend Deepak. To teach a lesson to his neighbor, the CCL contacted the gang members of Lawrance Bishnoi through social media and requested them to join their gang. The gang member asked him to download ‘signal app’ in his mobile phone. Thereafter, the gang aides claiming to be Anil Pandit and Randeep Malik talked with him and assured to provide him money, all protection and also weapons for which he has to follow their instructions. Subsequently, both CCL and Deepak joined the gang of Lawrence Bishnoi. Randeep Malik became notorious after the murder of Nadir Shah.
RECOVERY: Two automated pistols along with two live cartridges and two used cartridges. One stolen scooty. Two mobile phones. Two pair shoes and two pants worn by the assailants at the time of firing incidents., said, Mr. Raja Banthia, IPS, DCP, North Distt.
