The Sparsh Theatre Society team staged the satire, ‘84, 85, 86 te Marasi’, in loving memory of founder Prof. Gaurav Vij who died at the age of 46 on January 27.
The Play, staged for two days at DAV College Auditorium, had also been enacted earlier at Punjab Naatshala Amritsar, Chandigarh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.
In March 2018, Prof. Gaurav Vij was honored by Punjab Naatshala Amritsar for his extraordinary decade-long contribution to theatre. He was the recipient of Best Actor Award by Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy. He carried the legacy in theatre from his father Jiwan Prakash Vij who had emerged as top-ranking comedy star and participated in dozens of plays.
On the stage artists included Seerat, Muskan, Suhana, Sonu Babbar, Anshuman Gandhi, Sahil Wadhwa, Neeraj Sachdeva, Ruby Sharma, Shalu Dawra, Hanish Munjal, Rinku Singh, Shantanu, Sagar Soni, Ajay Kumar and Rohit Romi. The programme was impressively conducted by Prof. Ajay Khosla.

MLA Sandeep Jakhar and Mayor Vimal Thatai highly appreciated the spirit that the Sparsh team maintained after the untimely demise of their director Prof Gaurav Vij.
The first book of poems penned by Prof. Gaurav Vij was released jointly by Dr Rajesh Kumar Mahajan, Principal DAV College, Raj Sadosh, President, Lekhak Parishad and members of the Vij Family. Highly learned educationist H.R. Gandhar and renowned playwright Pali Bhupinder have given their high opinions about the writer. It has been edited by Prof Virender Setia, Prof Nirmala and Ashish Makkar.
