In a shocking development, 32-year-old Bathinda-based lawyer Davinder Pal Singh Natt allegedly died by suicide after levelling serious allegations against Zirakpur-based Sushma Builders.
Based on a suicide note and statements from the family, the Canal Colony Police Station has registered an FIR against Sushma Group’s managing officials — Binderpal Mittal, Bharat Mittal, and Prateek Mittal.
According to the FIR, the deceased held the accused responsible for his death and alleged fraud involving crores of rupees. Police said Natt allegedly shot himself with his licensed pistol.
Before the incident, he recorded a video of approximately 8 minutes and 45 seconds and left behind a one-page suicide note, both of which have been taken into police custody.
In the video and note, Natt claimed that he had invested crores of rupees with Sushma Builders, including approximately ₹6–7 crore from his acquaintances. He stated that around ₹5.5 crore was due to him but was not returned, leading to severe financial and mental stress.
He also mentioned an outstanding loan of about ₹80 lakh from the State Bank of India (SBI). In his video, he claimed to have approached several political leaders and ministers seeking justice, but received no relief.
In his suicide note, Natt appealed for support for his family, including his elderly mother, ailing wife, and sisters.
Upon receiving information, the police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem. Officials stated that the role of the accused is under investigation and all aspects of the case are being thoroughly examined.
Notably, the deceased’s father, Sukhraj Singh Natt, was a prominent Congress leader.
The incident has triggered a wave of grief in the area, with locals demanding strict action against those responsible.
